About Michael J. Morrier

Michael J. Morrier, PhD, BCBA-D, LBA is the owner and founder of Morrier Consulting LLC, specializing in professional education and support for autistic individuals and their families. His work focuses on embedding applied behavior analysis (ABA) into everyday activities and training professionals to administer the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) for both clinical and research use.

Dr. Morrier previously served as Associate Professor at the Emory Autism Center, Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, Emory University School of Medicine (1992–2023). He earned his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts–Amherst, his M.Ed. in Special Education from the University of Georgia, and his Ph.D. in Special Education from Georgia State University. A Board Certified Behavior Analyst since 2007, he became one of Georgia’s first Licensed Behavior Analysts in 2025.

His career has centered on expanding early autism identification, validating telehealth diagnosis platforms, and providing social communication supports in inclusive settings. Dr. Morrier was an expert clinical reviewer for the CDC’s Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring (ADDM) Network (1999–2021) and currently serves on editorial boards for the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, the Journal of Special Education, and Infant and Child Development.

In addition to his consulting and academic work, Dr. Morrier is President of the Board of Directors for Hess Academy, Program Committee Chair for the Atlanta Autism Consortium, and past President of the Georgia Division for Early Childhood (2015–2021).
