Overview

SUPER S.T.A.R.S is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) to provide high-quality evaluation and treatment services to children with physical impairments or disabilities. The PT will develop individualized therapy programs that enhance children’s mobility, strength, and overall physical function while promoting independence and participation in daily activities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct Comprehensive Assessments:
  • Perform detailed assessments of children’s physical abilities, movement patterns, and functional limitations through standardized tests, observational assessments, and parent interviews

  1. Develop and Implement Individualized Treatment Plans:
  • Create tailored therapy programs that address each child’s specific challenges, focusing on improving mobility, strength, coordination, and overall physical development
  • Utilize evidence-based practices, including play-based interventions, to engage children in meaningful activities that promote their physical growth and development.
  1. Provide Direct Therapy Services:
  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions, employing a variety of therapeutic techniques and modalities to facilitate progress towards therapy goals.
  • Encourage children’s active participation through fun and engaging activities, ensuring that therapy is a positive experience.
  1. Educate Clients and Families:
  • Provide training and resources to families on strategies to support their children’s physical therapy goals at home, including exercises and activities that can be incorporated into daily routines
  • Educate families on the importance of movement and physical activity in promoting overall health and well-being
  1. Maintain Accurate Documentation:
  • Document evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring clarity and thoroughness in records
  • Ensure that documentation reflects child progress and the effectiveness of interventions, adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality
  1. Participating in Professional Development:
  • Engage in ongoing learning opportunities to stay informed about advancements in pediatric physical therapy, including attending workshops, training, and conferences to enhance clinical skills.
  • Actively participate in professional organizations and networks to share knowledge, resources, and best practices in pediatric therapy.
Qualifications
  • Education: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
  • Licensure: Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist in Georgia.
  • Experience: Prior experience in pediatric physical therapy is preferred, with demonstrated success in engaging children and addressing diverse physical needs.
  • Skills: Strong clinical reasoning, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach to client care, with the ability to build rapport with children and their families
